St. Dymphna was the Christian daughter of a 7th century pagan king by the name of Damon. Dymphna was around the age of fourteen when her mother died. The king could not find a queen to match the beauty of Dymphna's mother, and lust soon started turning toward the daughter that look so much like her mother. Damon murdered Dymphna when she refused to enter into an incestuous marriage with him.
